Getting back from Europa-Park in the evening
The question never comes up on the way there. It comes up at 6.30pm, when the day has run longer than planned and you still have to get back to Strasbourg, Freiburg or Basel.
Europa-Park closes at 6pm at the earliest from late March to early November, and at 7pm at the earliest during the HALLOWinter and winter seasons — "at the earliest" is the park's own wording, and on busy days closing is later. Ringsheim/Europa-Park station is 5 km from the entrance, served by the 7231 shuttle, and evening connections thin out quickly. A private transfer booked in advance depends on no timetable: you set the return time when you book, and the driver waits at the exit.
When the park actually closes
The park publishes four seasonal bands: 9am to 6pm at the earliest from 28 March to 25 September, the same during Halloween until 1 November, then 11am to 7pm at the earliest during HALLOWinter and the winter season, closed on 24 and 25 December. The word that matters is "at the earliest": on busy days the park stays open longer — and those are precisely the days you will not want to leave early. Rulantica closes later still. What still runs after closing
The nearest station is Ringsheim/Europa-Park, 5 kilometres from the entrance: those 5 km have to be covered first, which the DB Regio 7231 shuttle does in about ten minutes. Only then does the rail journey begin. Every link in the chain has a last departure, and the shortest link often stops earliest. We do not publish those times: they change with the season and the day of the week, and a copied timetable that goes stale is worth less than none. Why the return is booked on the way out
A private transfer depends on no timetable: the return time is set when you book, and the driver waits at the park exit. It is the only option whose availability you do not have to check the night before. For four people, the return trip from Strasbourg costs €245 for the whole vehicle — an amount you divide by the number of passengers, which changes the comparison with per-person tickets entirely. And if the day runs long, one call moves the agreed time.
